Nailers

Last night, we went to the Wheeling Nailers hockey game with the Scouts. They had a special “overnight” thing for the Scouts last night… after the game, the boys were allowed to go skating and there were moon bounces set up all over the place… stuff like that. A lot of people brought sleeping bags and camped out at the arena. We opted to make the 40-minute drive home at 1am instead. Home just wasn’t that far away, and our beds are a lot more comfortable!!

Damon was thrilled with his new foam finger, and we enjoyed watching the Nailers win another game!

Then, after the game, Damon tried ice skating for the first time! That was quite an adventure, to say the least. He spent a good amount of time on his butt on the ice… but I was proud of him for actually sticking it out for a while and making several laps around the rink (even if his Dad was holding him up most of the time!).

Damon’s final spill on the ice was a good one… he knocked the wind out of himself , and Nick carried him off the ice just in time for Damon to vomit. End of skating!

Then, all of the kids had a blast on the moon bounces… here’s a pic of them waiting in line for one of them.

The game was fun; the “overnight” part was a chaotic nightmare. And I was really glad to pack it up and leave at 1am to head home!
