Poor Comet

We spent a few hours at the beach tonight, and Nick was determined that Comet was going to swim… or die trying. See, Nick has high hopes of turning Comet into his “duck dog” next hunting season. Only, Comet seems to HATE the water… So I’m thinking, “good luck with that!” lol

This is how Nick got his moose of a dog into the ocean tonight:

And, here is Comet making his way back to the shore… and almost drowning in the process (those darn waves!):

Here is the dripping wet mutt (but still alive, thankfully) after his swim… and Nick trying to make amends:

And, finally… what’s good for the dog is good for the kids, I suppose (although they seemed to enjoy it much more than poor Comet!):

HOW Fun!!!!!! Wish I could have joined you!!!!! Definately don’t think the dog will be very successful as a duck hunting dog!!!

Seeing your ocean pics has me counting down the days until we leave for the beach…2 weeks to go! Glad Comet made it through his swimming lesson in one piece!

Nice try Nick. . . Did Comet ever warm up to the water. . . Damon and Emma don’t look like landlubbers!

No, Grampy, Comet never did warm up to the water. Nick “carried” him in several times… and has nice claw marks all over his body to prove it (fool!). But Comet just swam back to the shore as quickly as his long legs would take him each time.

    Comet is definitely a landlubber.
